SUMMARY 

The Household of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall supports the official work of The Prince and The Duchess.

This role will ensure the accurate and timely delivery of management information to the Treasurer and to individual budget holders. 

In addition, the postholder will assist the Financial Controller and Deputy Treasurer (FCDT) in delivering continuous improvement of processes and information systems, including the implementation of an accounting system.

The role involves working closely with budget holders with the aim of providing value-added business support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountability for the preparation of the Household’s annual budget and twice yearly latest estimates;
  • Lead the production of the monthly management accounts with the support of the Management Accountants;
  • Responsibility for responding, or assisting other team members to respond, to queries from budget holders in a timely manner;
  • Assist and advise the FCDT with finance strategy and organization;
  • Cash flow management and reporting for the office;
  • Responsible for supervising and acting as mentor to members of the finance team providing support and training as necessary.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Qualified accountant (FIMA/FCCA/FCA or equivalent);
  • Demonstrable relevant accounting experience in a professional environment;
  • Demonstrable relevant experience in implementing financial systems;
  • Experience of managing others;
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail; 
  • Flexible and pro-active approach with initiative and a practical approach to problem-solving; 
  • Aptitude for working with figures; 
  • Ability to work to deadlines and work calmly under pressure;
  • Experience of writing financial and business reports;
  • Excellent IT skills, especially Excel and Word; 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; 
  • Proven ability to prioritize own work and to think and plan ahead; 
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimum supervision; 
  • Discretion and the proven ability to maintain confidentiality; 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains accounting package or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of the diversity of communities in the United Kingdom, in the Commonwealth and worldwide; 
  • An interest in, and knowledge of, the work and activities of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.
