Shepherdess Walk, London

37.5

The Prince’s Countryside Fund is looking to appoint a proactive and self-motivated Fundraising Officer to provide support for an exciting new philanthropy programme. Supporting the Head of Philanthropy and working with the wider fundraising team based in London, the post-holder will be responsible for day to day management of the charity’s new major giving and philanthropy programme, including the recruitment and stewardship of HNW supporters to a Patrons’ Circle and Friends programme. This will involve researching prospective major funders, managing a pipeline of prospects and donors and supporting funding approaches by organising cultivation and stewardship events and meetings. The role will also help support an established Development Group who meet quarterly and make introductions to their networks.

Since its establishment by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2010, The Prince’s Countryside Fund has carved out a niche position as a national charity which aims to improve the prospects of family farm businesses and the quality of rural life. We are committed to promoting a confident, robust and sustainable agricultural and rural community which is universally appreciated for its vital contribution to the British way of life and fit to support future generations.

Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage the day to day relationship with all donors to the philanthropy programmes
  • To identify and research prospective high value funders from both the existing pipeline and using external resources, influencers and the Development Board.
  • To organise cultivation meetings and events and to ensure follow up takes place to cultivate existing prospects towards major donations.
  • To assist with meetings and pitches to prospective donors as required.
  • To assist with the stewardship of existing donors and ensure that stewardship plans are reviewed and kept updated
  • To prepare communications materials such as newsletters, presentations and marketing materials as required.
  • To support the Development Group by preparing papers for quarterly meetings and ensuring follow up on Philanthropy matters takes place with individual members between meetings.
  • To manage all records, pipelines and the database to ensure information is up to date and accurately recorded
  • To prepare reports and updates on a monthly basis for the Director and Trustees
This is an exciting, fast-paced and varied role. The post-holder will have begun to develop outstanding relationship management and commercial skills, be comfortable dealing with senior level executives and have a mature, professional and credible manner. An interest in the countryside, natural environment and rural issues is desirable, as is knowledge of marketing and communications.
