SUMMARY

The Household of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge supports the official and charitable work of The Duke and Duchess.  This is an exciting opportunity to join the Communications Team to shape and define the Household’s digital strategy. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working together to communicate the work of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.  The successful candidate will lead the strategy and management of the official social media channels of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the overall strategy and management of The Duke and Duchess’ official social media channels;
  • Driving compelling, creative and strategic social media content to communicate Their Royal Highnesses’ work to a wide range of audiences;
  • Developing creative ideas for content in partnership with the wider Communications team;
  • Being well informed of platform innovation to ensure relevancy and impact of content;
  • Leading the digital elements of multi-discipline communications plans for major projects, overseas tours and engagements;
  • Capturing and editing high quality imagery and video on location for social media use;
  • Analysing data and evaluating the impact of activity to promote learnings across the communications team and wider Household;
  • Working with The Royal Foundation, Patronages and other third-party organisations to achieve shared digital objectives;
  • Overseeing the work of the Digital Officer.

CANDIDATE CRITERIA

  • Proven experience in digital strategising for high profile accounts;
  • Outstanding awareness of the social media landscape and current trends;
  • Strong understanding of social media engagement and analytics;
  • Excellent content creation skills, including photography, videography and editing;
  • Proven ability to think creatively, coming up with new and innovative ways to communicate activity digitally, taking data and analytics into consideration;
  • Strong written communication skills;
  • Good project management skills, attention to detail as well as strong organisational skills and the ability to work proactively, flexibly and to deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Line management experience desired but not required;
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion at all times;
  • Knowledge of the diversity of communities in the United Kingdom, in the Commonwealth and worldwide.
