Based in London - N1

Do you have a successful track record in grant giving? This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join one of the Prince of Wales’ charities. The Prince’s Countryside Fund is passionate about the countryside and its people. Established by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2010, the Fund works to help the prospects of family farm businesses and the quality of rural life. Both are under pressure and we are evolving rapidly as an organisation in order to support them fully.

Through our partnerships, grant giving, forums, projects like The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme, and events such as National Countryside Week – we support, promote and enhance the value of the countryside. In the last eight years we have given over £9m to over 250 projects.

We are looking for a proactive Grants Manager to manage and develop the charity’s well respected grant giving programme which is currently over £1m annually. This will be achieved by redefining our grant strategy, proactive engagement with rural stakeholders, working with potential grant recipients and developing our community networks.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record in charitable grant giving and an empathy with rural affairs, together with knowledge of charitable processes and governance.

Part of a small team of eight across the charity and based in London, you will report into the Head of Operations and may have line management responsibility for a Grants Officer. You will review and drive the Fund’s grant giving strategy, encourage and proactively seek grant applications, assisting applicants through the process where necessary. You will liaise with our beneficiaries and develop our strategic partnership programmes. You will manage the GIFTS grant management system and provide updates for senior management and Trustees. You will support the Communications Manager by identifying and developing case studies for the Fund’s communications and fundraising activity.

You will be enthusiastic, results orientated, a good team player and, of course, share our passion for the countryside.
