JOB DESCRIPTION

We are recruiting a HR Advisor to deliver excellent service to a broad range of teams across the Household. 

Working alongside the Senior HR Manager, the role will provide sound, pragmatic HR advice and operational support to staff and managers on all HR related matters, including resourcing, policies, procedures, benefits, employee relations and all HR aspects of the employee life cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support line managers through the recruitment process with discussions around resourcing, providing advice and guidance on organisational redesign, job descriptions, adverts and general methods of recruitment, as well as attending interviews where appropriate;
  • Oversee the process of onboarding new employees, ensuring and effective integration into the Household;
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees during their probation periods, and thereafter, escalating any concerns to the Senior HR Manager;
  • Ensure the HR database (HRIS) and electronic files are kept up-to-date;
  • Work with the payroll team at Buckingham Palace to oversee the monthly payroll process;
  • Manage the benefit programme, liaising with providers and sharing updates and information to employees;
  • Provide suggestions for improvements to our suite of benefits;
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on Household policies;
  • Work with Buckingham palace to review our policies, aligning Kensington Palace to theirs where appropriate;
  • Ensure that managers and employees are fully using the learning management system and performance management platform and that goals are set and that regular reviews are taking place, reviewing reports from the system to maintain effective usage;
  • In consultation with line managers, follow up individual learning and development needs (conducting department Training Needs Analysis) and source external training provision if required;
  • Update internal communications, either via email or intranet site on a regular basis;
  • Ensure that leavers are supported during the leaving process and help in making any necessary leaving arrangements;
  • Support the Senior HR Manager in the delivery of HR elements of organisational and cultural change activities, such as department restructures and projects more broadly;
  • Support the Senior HR Manager with employee wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.

CANDIDATE CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, and fully CIPD qualified;
  • Pro-active approach, self-motivated and plenty of initiative;
  • Ability to work with people at all levels;
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure;
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to prioritise work;
  • Flexible, diplomatic approach and enjoy working as part of a team;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and exercise discretion.

Previous Experience:

  • Relevant operational HR at a similar level;
  • Previous recruitment experience;
  • Previous payroll experience and benefit administration;
  • Proven experience of project development, research and drafting communications;
  • Computer literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Previous use of HR systems and e-recruitment systems.

Desirable:

  • An interest in Their Royal Highnesses' work and activities

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week worked Monday Friday, and such other hours that are necessary for the proper fulfilment of duties, or to meet unexpected or urgent demands.

The role is based at Kensington Palace, but some travel to other Royal residences may be required.
