Established by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2010, The Prince’s Countryside Fund exists to improve the prospects of family farm businesses and the quality of rural life. Through our partnerships, grants, and events such as National Countryside Week we celebrate and promote the value of the countryside.

The Prince's Countryside Fund is now looking to appoint a proactive and self-motivated Programme Officer for The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme.

Reporting to the Programme Manager and as part of a small team based in London, the post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme and Preparing for Transition work, including liaising with farmers and stakeholders, preparing briefings and progress reports, and assisting with communications for The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme.

The post-holder will also lead on the Fund’s Rural Development Group Scotland, and The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme alumni network.

Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide full administrative support to the charity’s Preparing for Transition activity and The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme.
  • Act as the main point of contact for participating farms, local regional coordinators and stakeholders.
  • Maintaining the database of participating farms according to charity policy and procedures.
  • Develop and manage the Alumni farm network, including managing the Alumni Facebook group and producing quarterly newsletters.
  • Support the ongoing evaluation of The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme.
  • Support the preparation of progress reports and updates for the Steering Group, Trustees, Sponsors and other stakeholders, and minute taking at these meetings.
  • Support the development of activity around Preparing for Transition including researching issues, preparing briefings and liaising with stakeholder organisations.
  • Working with the Director, provide full administrative support for the Rural Development Group Scotland including working with the group to implement activity.

The successful candidate will have previous administration experience, with a willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks. A knowledge of farming and rural affairs is desirable.

Candidates will have excellent organisation and communication skills, with an eye for detail. The ability to liaise with a broad spectrum of people in order to develop good working relationships, together with excellent I.T. skills is essential.
